ORKNEY SYCAMORE bowl with studs made from 5000 yr old bog oak A little bowl turned from local Orkney sycamore. It stands on a small turned foot and has a turned bead under the rim. The decoration has been added using pyrography and then some has been coloured with a red wood stain. The pyrography decoration around the rim is inspired by the Neolithic Unstan pattern. A natural split has been repaired using 5000 yr old bog oak studs. A stunning little decorative piece. Finished with several coats of oil and buffed. 100mm x 150mm∅
