ORKNEY CHERRY bowl

A little bowl turned from Orkney cherry and inspired by Neolithic ‘Unstan ware’ pottery. The bowl has been decorated, using pyrography, with designs inspired by those found on Neolithic pottery. Coloured using hematite (which was also used for decoration in Neolithic times). This is a very attractive piece, but also interesting and tactile. Finished with several coats of oil and buffed. 90mm x 155mm∅
