OAK turned bowl. There is a new influence appearing in Michaels work from the iron age pottery. This stunning bowl has been turned leaving grooves and tool marks and then stained with vinegar & steel wool. This hopefully gives the effect of old pottery or wood that has possibly been dug up. Hemp twine has been woven through carved slots around the rim. Also a natural leasion in the wood has been decorated with bronze staples. A silver staple with a Edinburgh hallmark and our makers mark has also been added. A real conversation starter that will create lots of interest. Although a none functional piece it is a bowl that asks to be handled so that all the natural features and embellishments can be studied to the full. Finished with several coats of oil and buffed. 80mm x 130mm∅
