ORKNEY SYCAMORE bowl. Inspired by the Neolithic pottery found on Orkney this highly decorated bowl is quite an eye-catcher. The scolloped pattern on the outside has been added using pyrography and then coloured using hematite (iron ore) just as the neolithic people would have used. Inside Michael has used pyrography to add fish and wheat symbols on the side of the bowl encouraging you to pick up the piece and turn it in your hand.  Finished with several coats of oil and buffed. Approx size 70mm x 130mm∅
