OAK turned bowl. There is a new influence appearing in Michaels work from the iron age pottery. This stunning bowl has been turned leaving grooves and tool marks and then bleached and coloured with white stain and hematite. This hopefully gives the effect of old pottery or wood that would have been used during the iron age period. Other decoration includes pyrography, scorching, bronze staples and bog oak studs. Although a none functional piece it is a bowl that asks to be handled so that all the natural features and embellishments can be studied to the full. Finished with several coats of oil and buffed. 90mm x 210mm∅
