ELM & BOXWOOD Quern bowl. Inspired by the Neolithic quern bowls which were carved from stone with a stone grinder and used for processing wheat or other grains. The beautiful curved shape of the bowl is very pleasing and the tactile grinder is great to hold, like a very large worry bead. The bowl is turned from Scottish elm with some natural edge and a round bottom. It sits on a seagrass ring. The teardrop grinder is turned from English boxwood and a natural split has been decorated with bronze staples. Finished with several coats of oil and buffed. 95mm x 210mm∅
