ELM bowl with handles and pyrography. This beautiful bowl is turned from Scottish elm and has hand carved handles. Michael turns a band around the bowl while turning the outside. He then marks the areas and with a Japanese saw and chisel he carefully removes the timber be doesn't want leaving these stunning little handles. This has to be done very carefully so as not to bruise the wood. Friction turned lines of different thicknesses are the start of the decoration. Hand applied pyrography completes the decoration Finished with several coats of oil and buffed. 165mm x 180mm
