Here we are into April already and we have had a busy week of people calling in to our gallery and workshop.

The weather has been very changeable. A day of beautiful sun and warmth followed by white stuff. It has also been extremely windy which is making life difficult for the birds and the emerging bees.

We got a fantastic picture of, what we think, is a Sparrow Hawk on our trail camera. It regularly visits our garden

Easter was accompanied by grandparent duties looking after the Tutu gang. They had a great couple of days and they helped plant seeds as well as many other activities. The pond is full of tadpoles and many species of birds are visiting or staying n the garden, as well as several types of bees and other insects so there is plenty for them to see and do and lots of space to run around, however they never seem to tire. 🤪🤣

We have ticked off a few ‘after winter’ jobs. Some trees have been damaged and needed heavy pruning and then the branches were shredded and used as mulch. A couple of runs to the quarry has replenished our stocks to patch and maintain the drive and various pots and garden ornaments have been brought out of their winter storage.

Michael is busy, as always, in the workshop. To see what he is working on follow us on Instagram. @Orkwoodturner

Also checkout YouTube where there are a few process videos and now several shorts to watch.

As the days grow ever longer and the garden comes to life we look forward to another summer season and all the new people we will get to meet, as well as, hopefully, a few returning visitors, acquaintances and friends.
