After a stunning evening the morning has arrived with cloud and a good breeze, standard longest day weather🤣
Still it’s nice to start with a walk round the Ring of Brodgar and along the loch.
It was early enough to have the place to myself, but when I arrived back at the Stones of Stenness the mini buses and coaches were rolling in. There is a liner in today with over 4000 people on board.
It’s been a different year for us so far with a sudden family bereavement in January throwing us. After several trips down to England we have now settled back into Island life and enjoying a steady flow of visitors from all sorts of places around the world.
The garden is looking fantastic and bringing in lots of insects and birds
The tunnels are starting to produce lovely fresh produce, especially fruit at the moment.
We have finally got our patio done, with the help of a lovely neighbour and his little digger. 🥵👍.
Michael has been busy in the workshop and then occationally disapears, in the evening, off to the beach or the loch for a spot of fishing.
Monty and I explore the surounding area, look for Groatie Buckies or just sit on the bank and watch 🤗🐾

A Scottish elm bowl with hand applied pyrography decoration finished with a verdigris wax. A rope and hemp haddle is attached using a leather loop fixed with copper boat nails.
