Michael turned a range of pieces inspired by fishing floats some of which he had used as a commercial fisherman and others he used to collect off the beach as a boy. The initial range were made back over the winter of 21/22. See previous blog
These were very well received and all sold. He got to work and enjoyed turning some large pieces of elm to the required shape. These have been hung in the workshop for about a year now, drying naturally.

He has also enjoyed working with rope again👍

Happy the moisture level was right he has finished a couple of the float inspired pieces and they are in our gallery.

I love the recreation of the fishing floats; I’ll be contacting you to discuss a purchase. My Orkney family survived by fishing so a very evocative link.
