Each year the fabulous Pier Arts Centre here in Orkney host a Christmas Exhibition. Any artist resident in Orkney, professional or other wise are invited to submit two pieces for the exhibition. The exhibitors are then invited to an opening night which was last Friday. After a lovely tea here we went along with a friend of ours to enjoy a look round, a mince pie and some mulled wine. As usual there is lots to see over three floors and the place was packed. We had a look round and a chat with some familiar faces.

We returned on Sunday for a second look when there were a few less folk there and to purchase a Bill McArthur painting. Bill is an artist who lives on Sanday (Michaels home island) and we have always wanted one of his beautiful paintings. We loved one of the two he had decided to exhibit this year, so result we are the proud owners. We have left it in the exhibition and will collect it in the New Year, but I did take a photo.
