Nearly the end of this years dig at the incredible Neolithic Ness of Brodgar here in Orkney and yesterday was the second (and last) Open day for this season. The weather was on our side, after a horrendous day of wind and rain on Saturday.
We had a great time showing off Michaels Neolithic inspired turnings, chatting to all the guys involved with the dig and the many visitors, both holiday makers and locals, that came to see the site and see all the activities both there and in the Stenness hall where we were.
I managed to sneak away 1st thing and go up to the dig to get a few photos.
Diggers hard at work while Nick takes the OAS members for a special tour
Finds on show, including this beautiful little pot.
A big thanks to all involved, organisers, all the guys doing the catering and especially Nick and the guys at The Ness of Brodgar for inviting us along.
Looking forward to next year.
