On Friday night we attended the opening of the Summer exhibition ‘Artefacts and Inspirations from the Ness of Brodgar’ in The Stromness Museum. Despite it being a horrendous night of rain the event was well attended and there was lots of chat over a glass of wine.
It is a while since either of us have been in the museum and we had forgotten how good it is. The Ness exhibition has its own room downstairs and was fantastic. As well as the artifacts lots of people have been inspired by this incredible site and have shown this in their art, jewellery, pottery and even chocolates. Of course I must add, that we have 2 of Michaels pieces in there. Anyway, go along if you can, well worth a look and a lot of the work is for sale.
