2018 is upon us and it was the 1st Camera club of the new year, last night. It was decided, if the rain kept off, to go and do a bit of outside photography. Our lovely town (the main one on Orkney, Kirkwall) was looking good with the Christmas lights and great reflections from the rain soaked pavements.
We set off, En Masse, with cameras and tripods in hand and drifted up the main street snapping away while chatting about our different festive goings on. Some of the guys trying out new bits of equipment Santa had delivered. As always happens we ended up at St. Magnus Cathedral. Built of local red sandstone this magnificent building is even more stunning at night.
Eventually with the rain starting again and cold setting in we headed back to the hall for a cuppa and more chat.
Our next competition later this month is ‘Darkness’. We discussed a few ideas and thoughts then headed home.
