That’s our burn “Off Island” over, few miles on the car 🚘, bank account lighter 💷and a couple of pounds put on the hips😉. All good.
After a stop by relatives in Alness we headed down to Derbyshire staying at The Inn at Kippen on the way down. Reviewed as an unexpected gem and they were not joking, the food was incredible, the owner and staff were lovely and although the room was small (very old building) it was very clean and comfortable. Don’t usually recommend places as everybody looks for different things, but I am going to recommend this one.
A few days in a little cottage in Castleton with a major fix of family catching up including my brother who flew over from Germany to spend a couple of days with us. On the last day we drove over to Harrogate to The great Yorkshire Show ground, brother in tow, to The North of England Woodworking & Power Tool Show⚒. Our day in Manchester photographing street art 📷was my thing, however now, my Hubby was in his element and soon we had bags of “vital” equipment, finishes and tools. We put a few faces to names which is always good and drank excellent coffee from a tut-tut☕.
We said our goodbyes and headed north taking in the snowy splendor of Glencoe🏔 and onto Skye. Although very cold and snowy the roads were clear and there was no wind so the ferry ⛴back to “the Rock” was not an issue. Always enjoy a road trip, but love to get back to Orkney and home. 👍😊
